Although the review kept me entertained for some time, once it was finished, I was starting to get bored.Īnd what better way to cure the blues than to start looking for another? After I was done with the review, the cruise blues started to hit me. Writing it was as much fun as the cruise itself and I am eternally thankful for everyone that was a part of it. After I got home, I started the review immediately, and it took me roughly 2 weeks to complete it. Like I said, we traveled on the Allure on November 4, 2012. For the Twitter account, I plan on doing LIVE updates and such. It is easier to do so from there, so please feel free to friend request me. The Facebook is mainly for those who just like looking at my pictures. I have also expanded and I now have both Facebook and Twitter accounts dedicated to cruising. Now I will try to bring you aboard Breakaway and let you experience the magic of NCL from the comfort of your home or office (most likely office, I hope you can get some work done during these following weeks )). This was also the first time that Gambee realized he had grown his sea legs :D. It was a great cruise that was unfortunately impacted by very bad weather during almost the entire voyage. ![]() My second report was the X Silhouette Review. I am very proud of this review and I think it was the main reason for getting into writing reviews. ![]() My first detailed review was the Allure of the Seas Review. It was my first cruise and I did not go into deep details within the report. First, I wrote a short review of the Norwegian Sky. This is my third time around writing a fully detailed guide to a cruise ship. However, I tend to get bored when I do the same thing over and over again, and this is why I think I will never settle for a specific cruise line. We are currently on our plan of traveling on every cruise line within our price range to find which one suits us the most. We are new to cruising and so far we have been on X, NCL and RCCL. As some of you have probably figured out by now my bf is not very keen about cruising, so for now it is just my mom and I. Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I am a 29 year old guy (I will forever be 29, ok! )) traveling with his mom. May he rest in peace next to his beloved partner. ![]() ![]() Here is the link: Review of NCL Star to Bermuda. If you have some free time, please stop by his review and enjoy it. In order to keep his spirit alive, I am posting the link of his wonderful review. I got to know him through his posts and thought of him like a friend. I remember finding his review when I was looking for information about Bermuda and I was immediately hooked into his storytelling method. His witty and outgoing personality brought laughs and joy to many here in Cruise Critic. I would like to start by dedicating this review in the loving memory of Kev, "luv2cruise53", fellow CC member and review writer. We invite you to come with us and experience "The Beautiful Norwegian Breakaway!" Including: Dailies, Documents, Menus, Wine/Drink lists, tips and much more.īut more than that I have a story to tell and a vacation to share. I have a ton of information that I would like to share with you all! This will be my first time reviewing a brand new ship! I encourage you to ask questions to trigger my memory.Īlso if you sailed in this voyage and have something to add, please do so =). ![]() Apollo's achievement with its 50-year-old technology cannot be reproduced in 2019 by any nation in the world, including the United States (only now is modern technology capable of faking the Moon landings). In a July 2019 HBO interview, Sibrel stated the following main reasons that he believed the Apollo missions were a fake: ![]() Main article: Moon landing conspiracy theories § Hoax claims and rebuttals ĭuring 2019, the Bart Sibrel YouTube channel was demonetized. Sibrel's single most notable work is a 47-minute video work likewise calling into question the historicity of the Apollo Moon missions entitled A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon, Sibrel describes the Apollo program as a "Cold War CIA and Nixon administration deception." Amanda Hess, writing for The New York Times alludes to the work as a pseudo-documentary, and describes the work in this way: "It mashed up moon footage with ominous shots from the Soviet Union and Vietnam, was narrated by a severe British woman and was sold on a website called ." Sibrel confronted several Apollo astronauts in the preparation of his videos, all of whom responded indifferently or negatively when they realized that they were being challenged on their achievement of landing and walking on the Moon. Īs of 2002, Sibrel was operating a video production company in Nashville, Tennessee, and had "made a career out of perpetuating the notion that NASA's Apollo moon missions were hoaxes." This concern relates in part to Sibrel's record of misrepresenting his identity to the subjects he attempts to interview, notably repeated attempts involving former astronauts including Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, Alan Bean, Eugene Cernan, and Edgar Mitchell (where Sibrel posed as filmmaker associated with the History Channel). In the case of the Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin, whom Sibrel arranged to meet on a false pretense, outside the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills, the interaction resulted in Aldrin punching Sibrel, which brought him significant publicity. In his works, Sibrel in part films himself asking that various Apollo astronauts put their hand on the Bible and swear an oath that they walked on the Moon. If 30% of your Gross Pay is less than your monthly rent, many financial professionals would suggest that you find a more affordable home or increase your income. If 30% of your Gross Pay is more than you're currently paying each month in rent, then you may be at a more comfortable level for housing. If you receive a paycheck twice a month: Multiply your Gross Pay by 2 (to see your monthly Gross Pay). If you receive a paycheck every two weeks: Multiply your Gross Pay by 26 (to see your 52-week Gross Pay) then divide that number by 12 (to see your monthly Gross Pay). To find your gross monthly income, take a look at your most recent paycheck and find the line calling out “Gross Pay” (what you're paid before taxes, health insurance, 401k, and any other benefits are removed from your pay). ![]() How to calculate 30% of your available income for rent To maintain a balance in your monthly budget, find ways to decrease your spending in other areas to live comfortably or find other areas to live in for less. If you live in an expensive area, you may have to spend more than 30% of your monthly income on rent. If you'd rather live in a more spacious apartment or more appealing neighborhood, cutting back on these extras can help you afford your new space. If you frequently eat out at restaurants, spend money on entertainment, or travel, consider how these expenses affect your monthly budget. While finding a cheaper place to live can help you afford all of your essentials, consider reviewing and trying to reduce your expenses so you can put your money toward student loans and other debt. When you have considerable debt to pay each month, putting 30% of your income toward rent may still be too much. If your rent pushes above 30% of your gross income, by limiting your monthly bills, you may be able to keep rent + bills less than 50%. The rule entails spending 50% of your monthly income on essential expenses such as rent, monthly bills, and groceries, spending 30% on non-essential purchases such as going out to eat, and putting 20% into your savings account. The 50/30/20 rule is a popular method to follow when determining your expenses in your monthly budget. When determining how much you can reasonably pay in rent per month, there are some other things to consider before you say no. The 30% rule does not always perfectly align with your budget. Make sure that your monthly rent payments don’t prevent you from paying off credit card debt or loans: your rent shouldn’t cause you to fall deeper in debt. If you have to spend over 30% per month on rent, you'll have less money left over for bills and important purchases, making it more difficult to build savings. Why you shouldn’t spend over 30% of your income on rent For instance, if you have credit card debt or student loans to pay off, consider finding an apartment with rent below 30% of your monthly income, so you can put more of your budget toward reducing your debt. The 30% rule is a general guideline that renters can follow, but they should also take into account other expenses and factors. This has been a rule of thumb since 1981, when the government found that people who spent over 30% of their income on housing were "cost-burdened." Under 30% ![]() What should your rent to income ratio be? The 30% ruleĪ popular standard for budgeting rent is to follow the 30% rule, where you spend a maximum of 30% of your monthly income before taxes (your gross income) on your rent. ![]() Here’s how you can figure out how much of your income should go toward your monthly rent. Ideally, your monthly rent payments should leave you with enough money left over for bills, groceries, a bit of non-essential spending, and even savings. The internet was also an essential tool in the process of allowing us to get in touch with images filmed here in Brazil. Through this "informal" research, we were able to find unpublished materials such as the passage in which Clementina is cooking with her grandchildren in her home, a stunning image that reflects the simplicity and joy that permeated her daily life. As for the images, in addition to the traditional collections, archives of cultural institutions and TV channels, we also searched in unusual ways, asking friends, movie lovers, sambistas and musicians. We set up a team, and Pedro Paulo Malta a great connoisseur of Brazilian popular music, researcher and Samba singer led the research team. Mariana Marinho: The research was long and intense. Could you take us through the research process for the film? You have some fabulous archival footage in the film. We embraced the opportunity with all our dedication and passion for bringing poetic visibility to a powerful woman, one of the most significant references of Brazilian popular music.
